Mo Shaikh’s life has never been without challenges. When he was born and grew up in an immigrant family, the struggle was part and parcel of his life. But perhaps struggle never discriminates against anyone, poor and privileged alike. Even now that he is living an ideal life as a serial entrepreneur, challenges still haven’t eluded him. However, Mo has never been a person who is fed up with circumstances. He has always found his way out of every single one of the challenges.
There is no doubt that the entrepreneurial life is a testing one. Research has substantiated prevailing mental health problems in the entrepreneur community. To prevent himself from going through those, Mo Shaikh makes sure to adhere to some healthy habits, some old and some new. Here we mention a few of these habits:
Healthy diet
Having a healthy diet is something everyone should adhere to, let alone an entrepreneur. However, despite being aware of its repercussions, entrepreneurs tend to adopt quite a callous diet. Their calendars are filled to the brim with events such as late meetings and celebratory events, due to which they throw all caution to the wind to consume unhealthy food. However, Mo is an exception. He sticks to a healthy diet for 80% of his week and mostly eats protein-rich foods. Living a life where he has to constantly be on his toes, he’s conscious of what to savor and what to discard.
Early morning workout
There would rarely be a day where you won’t see Mo in the gym at times when people are just waking up from deep slumbers. He loves early morning workouts; he scribbles a to-do list for the day in his mind and hits the gym to prepare himself for each task. It’s no wonder he’s at the top of his game when it comes to physical fitness and productivity.
Prayers
The race to the top can often cost us our mental peace, with ensuing discomfort preventing us from savoring our success. This can be quite common in the entrepreneurial world. However, Mo is always full of gratitude and frequently prays to express that gratitude. He makes sure to thank God and attains his inner peace through being spiritual; he believes that not doing so ultimately creates a void that can consume one if not filled.
Avoid procrastinating
Mo makes sure to complete his to-do list effectively without letting procrastination stretch his day. “Procrastination is hazardous and evil,” he says. If not addressed timely, it will push you into the pit of making excuses where you will always come up with an alibi to go after something you want to. “When you feel this particular task can wait, that’s exactly the moment you should take it up by a notch!” he suggests.
Spending time with family
Mo is a family man. No matter how much work absorbs him, he always hops out of his busiest schedule and spends time with his wife and children. According to him, he may have achieved significantly owing to many of his traits, but his family remains an eternal powerhouse for him.
