How Is Bobby Umar Teaching Personal Branding and Career Development

Born and raised on the East Coast of Canada, Bobby Umar grew up in a middle-class family of 6. Being a big dreamer, he soon realized that living in a small town wasn’t for him. He studied hard and went to McGill University in Montreal to pursue engineering. Bobby started his career working for Bombardier as an engineer. After a while, he understood that engineering just wasn’t the right fit for him. Unsure of what Bobby wanted to do next, he decided to explore marketing. After three years of working in marketing, Bobby was left feeling unfulfilled. Even marketing just wasn’t for him.

Finally, after choosing two different career paths and not being satisfied by either, Bobby decided that he had to figure out what he was passionate about and find himself. To help him do that, he listed down the things he knew about himself. Bobby was someone who loved people, loved helping others, loved presenting and persuading, and most of all loved diversity. The realization of these characteristics is what helped Bobby decide that he wanted to be a motivational speaker. Bobby was going to teach others personal branding and career development so that they wouldn’t go through the things he had to.

Bobby didn’t want others to have to go through the painful and time staking process of finding themselves. This is why he decided that he would teach others personal branding and career development. In 2007, Bobby launched his business for transformational speaking “Raeallan” and never looked back. By conducting workshops around the world or online, usually for conferences or corporations, Bobby built thought leadership in business professionals and teams. His clients include companies from all over the world, like TELUS, TD Canada Trust, CIBC, Air Miles, Kraft, Nestle, Canadian Tire, Novartis, Professional Engineers of Ontario, Ontario Public Service, and University Health Network. Bobby’s ability in training and speaking has resulted in him winning numerous awards including, the title of Most Outstanding Leadership Speaker 2021. He also has done 5 TEDx talks and was named an Inc Magazine Top 100 Leadership Speaker, alongside Richard Branson, Brene Brown, and John C Maxwell.

Fast forward to July 2018, Bobby started DYPB – Discover Your Personal Brand, an initiative that would help leaders create more focus, alignment, and impact in their lives through personal branding. They even managed to run the largest conference in North America dedicated to personal branding. Fast forward to today, Bobby has started a new business called the Thought Leadership Branding Club on Clubhouse. Through this, he aims to create a community of thought leaders and experts while helping business professionals build meaningful relationships, innovate new ideas, and enhance their communication skills.

Bobby is continuously working to teach personal branding and career development to help all those who feel lost, stuck or unfulfilled. As a result, he hopes that one day his efforts can help him get on more
