Fueling Fridays by Kendall Freeman: How She Is Creating “Safe Space” for People with an Eating Disorder

Fueling Fridays is an emerging podcast show created by Kendall Freeman, based on wellness and lifestyle talk. The podcast is an extension of Kendall’s Instagram, where she talks about recovery from an eating disorder along with a glance at her lifestyle.

The weekly podcast provides a unique framework to those that are tired of hearing everything from the perspective of diet culture. Kendall’s podcast goal is to have the ultimate ‘sleepover chat.’ Fueling Fridays is highly against the toxic diet culture that grips many, and promises to bring the talk recovery and what that truly means to the table. In her second episode, Kendall expresses her fear of facing the world. Her anxiety held her back from showing her true self to the world, but that was not for long. She was afraid of what people in her life would think if they knew this part of her. Raising the curtains, she finally stopped worrying about people seeing this part of her because she knows the continues effect it will have on her life. Amidst Kendall’s struggle with eating disorders, she says, “once you have an eating disorder, you have to work to recover your whole life.”

Furthermore, she says that “going on a diet after an eating disorder will flip that switch on” l. While pushing back the fear of the unknown, she welcomes everyone on Fueling Fridays. Her content is all-inclusive, and has become a source of happiness and fulfillment, not just for others but for herself as well. Kendall says that nothing is more fulfilling them having someone reach out to her to let her know how much of a positive impact her content has had on them.
